¿FEED BACK? ¿Eso qué es?

Veamos qué nos dice el diccionario Wordreference:

(voz i.) m.

FEED BACK ? What's that?

Let's see what the Wordreference (in Spanish) says:

(voice i.) m. Feedback, set of reactions or responses that a receptor expresses respecting to the performance of the issuer, which is taken into account to change or modify the message.

The title of the entry refers to the good response that this blog has received and the course in general by the families of my pupils. I have noticed that for many, family-school collaboration really gives abundant good results. Just look at the evolution of many students since they started this course till to-day.

Well, speaking of feedback, some of the families who have been following this blog, asked me to put entries of stuff they can contribute. Great! That means that we are doing well. Children are motivated in class and also encourage at home and that is the goal!

I started with a precious little thing that was sent by Lucia M.: She has made her own Petra the Wordeater at home, and it is a very beautiful princess. At home she does the same thing as at school. Do you know what she does at school? When she finish her work, she ask for more sheets to be given to Princess Petra from her home!

As this is the week of the letter j, the other day she made a lot of “j”s by herself. Here's our champion at home in the photo which was sent by her mom:

And here we have Lucia M. with her sheet to take home, made in school. The "learning" backwards! or better yet..."learning" everywhere! as it should be, right?

On the worksheet you can see the name of the letter “j”, a lot of “j”s, she wrote “j”s in lowercase letters and underneath she put "FOR PETRA" (from her house, of course).

And Lucia M. also wants to pay tribute to her FRIENDS, because they are friends inside and outside of school. FRIENDS IN ALL SITES:

Ah, cómo me gusta que participéis. Eso es muuuuuy buena señal. ¡GRACIAS!

Oh, I love to see you participating in this blog, in your children education. That's a very good sign. THANKS!!

3. La CAMISETA CELESTE de Mª Carmen.

4. Los PANTALONES de Ainhoa.

5. La CABEZA de Fátima.

Soluciones:

Between assessment and assessment, and between lesson and lesson I have to study, I take a moment to give you the solution of the photo that was put in my previous post. By clicking on the picture you can enlarge and see it better:

What do they have in common?

Well, if you look carefully and you followed my advise with the hint I gave you (we were working on the silkworm project), look carefully from RIGHT to LEFT (that means for children, from LUCIA M. to FATIMA). Read carefully, guys:

1. What is Lucía M. DOING ?

2. The CAT of Lucía S.  is surrounded by things.

3. The BLUE SHIRT of M ª Carmen.

4. The trousers of Ainhoa .

5. The HEAD of Fatima.

Solutions:

¿Ya?

¡Sí! ¡ESTAS 5 NIÑAS LLEVAN TODAS MARIPOSAS!

¿Lo adivinasteis?

Escribidme un comentario ¿no?

Ready?

Yes! All those 5 GIRLS HAVE BUTTERFLIES!

Did you guess?

I´m waiting for your comments!

Here you have some pictures:

What similarities (same or similar things) can you find in the same photo?

What differences (different things) can you find among children of the same picture ?

And now more difficult : All these girls have something in common, can you guess what it is?
I give you a hint: we are now with the project of silk worms (caterpillars).

I will give you the solution in the next post.

DUDE, THIS IS TOO MUCH.

Last week we were practicing with the letter t. The students had to make a worksheet with words containing the letter t.

Maybe the teachers and parents can see the conveniences and/or advantages of practicing in this way based on insisting to read and write with worksheets: writing, drawing, and copying several times to absorb the movements, the mental image, the phoneme, the spelling... Repeat, repeat, repeat... Until you get it.

But what happens when we find a smart student still in the process of strengthening his/her visual-motor skills realizes that what he/she writes does not make sense? Because obviously, if he/she applies his/her logic, the true logic: writing actually serves to communicate, to transmit, to inform...

So I was not surprised after practicing our Spanish ta, te, ti, to, tu, and several words with t, he got tired and he wrote on his own : TIO TELA MARINERA, that more or less means: DUDE, THIS IS TOO MUCH (using words with t, hahahaha).

Obvious... so many t´s..., THIS IS TOO MUCH, TEACHER
.
If you look at the picture, he connects the letters, he put the letters properly in their position (he do not seperate, but at these levels it is normal) and as we have not come to the minuscule letter r yet, he has done the capital letter R without lifting the pen.

I laughed when he showed me his worksheet.

I gave hiim an VVGW, of course.

(VVGW: Very, very good work)

In our class we write every day. We make worksheets, we write short notes, the assistant of the day writes on the blackboard...

Yesterday when I was blogging I found an activity if I am not mistaken from our teacher Miren (forgive me if it is not, but to go from link to link I cannot remember where I saw it. If the autor see this entry, please you let me know), where the children  wrote on the blackboard in small group.

So today we have done it like this. We went in groups and I have drawn something they had to write in lower case letters (which is more difficult than capital letters, of course).

They liked it very much. They could not go out all to the blackboard, so next time those who have not gone out will have their turn. They like writing with chalk, and make a group activity on the board and show it to the others. It was almost like a race of who writes faster and better. But all have been winners.

¡Comenzamos!

¡Enhorabuena Marta!

TODAY, ONE TOOTH FROM MARTA HAS DROPPED

Today Marta came very happy from the break-time. "Look teacher, one of my tooth has dropped ". This is because when we get older the milk teeth gradually fall to give way to the definite teeth.

"There's blood!" Said some of the children who were impressed. Buth Marta answered bravely : "Never mind, nothing happens, it does not hurt." Besides, she was very proud that she has grown and she was very happy because tonight would come Pérez Mouse (the Spanish version of the Tooth Fairy).

Congratulations Marta!

Let´s take advantage of this happening and write it on the board to read.

Oh, and Hugo showed us some holes which he got when some of his teeth dropped. Hugo also has grown !
