NOS VISITA LIMASA

Hoy nos han visitado los trabajadores de LIMASA quienes nos han ofrecido una serie de actividades dentro del Programa de Educación y Concienciación Ambiental Urbana, titulado LA GESTIÓN DE RESIDUOS URBANOS EN MI CIUDAD.

Programa LIMASA en las escuelas.

Ha sido una visita muy interesante porque hemos aprendido muchas cosas sobre cómo trabajan los servicios de limpieza de nuestra ciudad y qué tenemos que hacer con nuestros desechos para poder cuidar nuestro medio ambiente.

Primero llegaron a presentarse y recogernos para darnos una vueltecita en el camión de la basura ¡Era muy chulo! verde y pequeñito. Con el camión pasan por las calles donde no caben los camiones grandes y recogen los contenedores o ayudan a los barrenderos que barren las calles. La basura se coloca en el contenedor que el camión lleva detrás.



Today we´ve received the visit of the Cleaning Service of the City LIMASA under the Program of Enviromental Education: Management of solid urban waste.

Programa LIMASA en las escuelas.

It became an interesting activity because we´ve learned many things about how the Cleaning Service of our city works and what must we do with our waste to take care of our environment.

After introducing themselves, they give us a ride in their refuse lorry. It was cool! green an so tiny. They use that small lorry in the streets where the big ones can´t go trough. They pick up the rubbish bins and help the street sweepers. The rubbish is thrown to the container the lorry has at the back side.



Todos tuvimos la oportunidad de montarnos en el camión y darnos una vueltecita.

All of us had the opportunity to ride on the refuse lorry.

Nos enseñaron cuál es el trabajo de los técnicos de limpieza, profesionales que los niños conocen popularmente como barrenderos y/o basurreros.

They showed us how is the job of a street sweeper.

Después nos explicaron cosas muy interesantes sobre el reciclaje. Es importante cuidar el medio ambiente y para eso tenemos que tener cuidado con los desechos que producimos.

After that, they explain us very interesting things about recycling. It´s important to take care of the environment, and we have to be carefull with the rubbish we produce.

En el contenedor azul ponemos los papeles y los cartones:

We must put papers and cards in the blue container.

En el contenedor verde se ponen los vidrios. ¡Atención! ¡cristales no! sólo los vidrios procedentes de botellas y envases. Los cristales de las ventanas, los vasos, los platos, etc., se tiran en el contenedor gris. ¡Eso no lo sabíamos!

This is something I don´t know how to explain en english: we use the green containers for the glass, but not real glass but only the one that comes from bottles or jars. Not windows, glasess or dishes. We didn´t know that!

En el contenedor amarillo tiramos los envases de plástico, los tetrabricks, las bolsas y ¡el papel de aluminio! todo lo que contenga aluminio hay que tirarlo en el amarillo. Otra cosa que tampoco sabíamos.

We put plastic, tetrabriks or aluminium in the yellow container.

En el contenedor gris (en nuestra clase sería la papelera con la bolsa negra), tiramos lo que no se tira en los otros contenedores: comida, basura orgánica, etc.

And in the grey one we put all the things we cannot put in the other containres: organic, etc.

También hemos aprendido que si tenemos mascota y deposita sus excrementos en la calle, debemos de recogerla como buenos ciudadanos. Y alguien se va corriendo y se deja la caquita de su perro, tenemos que decirle ¡¡¡eso no se hace!!! ¡¡¡eso no se hace!!!

Don´t forget we have to take care with our pets poops as good citizens. Always bring a bag and pick it up.

Hicimos una pequeña representación: unos niños estaban en la calle y tiraron basura al suelo, e inmediatamente llegó la patrulla de limpieza y lo recogió todo.

We made a small performance: some kids were on the street and throw their rubbish no the floor, and inmediately the Cleaning Patrol came and cleaned it all.

Si no tuviésemos servicio de limpieza y recogida de basuras ¡todo estaría muy sucio!

Como no queremos que los lugares donde vivimos y las calles estén sucias, hemos de tirar las cosas en su sitio correspondiente.

Por último, plasmamos a modo de síntesis lo que hemos aprendido:


If we hadn´t have any cleaning service, everything would be dirty! If we want clean streets, we have to take care of where we throw our rubbish.

Finally, we made our summary of the experiencie in a paper.
